Thank you for visiting!
Waltz-Astoria is an unique performance space and artistic minded wine/desert bar located
in Astoria (LIC), a cozy European neighborhood that overlooks the city of Manhattan from across the East River.
Waltz has becoming the place
to go for light lunches, afternoon teas and snack, friendly get-together, and of course great dessert and cappuccino. Located
just a few blocks away from Astoria Park, Waltz is haven to teachers, mommies, and working professionals during the day. Its
charming decor and cozy atmosphere warms up your heart as soon as you step in. It's the best place to socialize with friends,
relax with a book, study for an exam, or simply chill with a glass of our famous sangria.
Of
course, Waltz means great live music. Since its opening in 2005, we have presented hundreds of shows ranging from Classical
trios to hip hop and world music. Wednesday Night Open Mic is the longest and the most successful running open mic in Queens,
drawing talent scouts citywide. We showcase some of the most entertaining local talents and touring artists; it is known for
its eclectic but selective booking. Waltz was featured as Best of New York 2008 in New York Magazine.
Waltz is also an avid collaborator
with local music and performing arts organisations, incl. Astoria Music Society, Astoria Performing Arts Center, Women's Writing
Studio, Astorians for Peace and Justice, Project: Theater, and most recently Five Flights Theater Company.
Waltz-Astoria is known for
being the host to many community events and parties. Waltz also offers low-cost rental to independent musicians, artists and
filmmakers for various non-performance related projects, helping to promote creativity inside the city of Astoria and Long
Island City.
